The Founders’ Promise Match builds upon the promise first embraced by our Founders—that future generations would experience a transformative Christ-centered education. Generously established through Carl and Martha Lindner’s $1 million matching gift, this year-long, community-wide giving opportunity will ensure the longevity of CHCA’s founding mission and vision for generations to come.
About Founders' Promise
On October 15, 1987, a group of visionary Christ followers gathered to pray over a shared calling: to bring a world-class Christian education to students across Cincinnati. More than 35 years later, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy is a living testimony to the generosity, courage, and unwavering faith of our Founding Families.
To expand the lasting impact of CHCA’s mission and vision, Founders Carl and Martha Lindner have prayerfully and generously blessed our community with an incredible $1 million matching gift. Under the Founders’ Promise Match, every eligible dollar given to CHCA during the 2026–27 school year will be matched up to $1 million.
The Lindners and Founding Families planted the seeds of a mission that continues to bear fruit today. Now, it’s our turn to carry forward their legacy with anticipation and generosity. Through the Founders’ Promise Match, our gifts will provide even more opportunities for students to know Christ, discover their calling, and influence the world for His glory.

Give Using an IRA Charitable Rollover
If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a gift directly from your IRA to CHCA. This qualified charitable distribution (QCD) counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) and may reduce your taxable income—all while blessing our students in a lasting way.

What is the Founders’ Promise Match Campaign?
To expand the lasting impact of CHCA’s mission and vision, Founders Carl and Martha Lindner have prayerfully and generously blessed our community with an incredible $1 million matching gift. Under the Founders’ Promise Match, every eligible dollar given to CHCA during the 2026–27 school year will be matched up to $1 million.
How long will the Founders’ Promise Match run?
The Founders’ Promise Match is a year-long campaign. CHCA community supporters are encouraged to give during the 2026–27 school year to help us reach our goal.
How does the $1 million match work?
The $1 million matching commitment will be provided in four $250,000 increments. As the CHCA community contributes toward each $250,000 goal, an additional $250,000 in matching funds will be unlocked, doubling the impact of those gifts.
Will my gift be doubled?
Yes. Eligible gifts made during the campaign will be matched dollar for dollar until the full $1 million in matching funds has been unlocked.
What gifts qualify for the match?
Gifts must support CHCA’s Operating Fund to qualify for the Founders’ Promise match. The Operating Fund covers many areas across CHCA, including student programs and scholarships, and eligible sponsorships.
You may give to one of CHCA’s greatest needs or designate your gift to an eligible operating area that is meaningful to you.
Gifts to capital projects, endowment funds, and other non-operating purposes do not qualify for the match.
Can I designate my gift to a specific CHCA program?
Yes. You may designate your gift to an eligible area within CHCA’s Operating Fund, including academics, arts, athletics, and other operating programs. Your gift will support the operating area you select, while the corresponding matching dollars will support CHCA’s overall Operating Fund.
What does the Operating Fund support?
CHCA’s Operating Fund supports the people, programs, and experiences that make a CHCA education possible each day. It includes areas such as:
- Academics and classroom programs
- Arts, including theatre, music, dance, and visual arts
- Athletics and individual sports
- Student programs and activities
- Faculty and staff support
- Campus operations
- CHCA’s greatest operating needs
- Student Scholarships

Do partnership and membership payments qualify?
Partnership and membership payments supporting CHCA’s Operating Fund qualify for the campaign match, although the tax-deductible portion may be less than the total payment when benefits are provided.
Where will the matching funds be used?
All Founders’ Promise matching dollars will support CHCA’s overall Operating Fund, helping meet the school’s most important operating needs across academics, arts, athletics, student programs, faculty and staff, and campus operations.
Is there a minimum gift amount?
Gifts of every amount help unlock the match. Donors with cumulative campaign contributions of $1,000 or more will be recognized as being part of the Founders’ Promise Match unless they choose to remain anonymous.
Is there a maximum amount that will be matched?
Gifts will be matched dollar for dollar as matching funds remain available.
Do gifts through a donor-advised fund qualify?
Yes. A grant to CHCA can be recommended through a donor-advised fund.
Can I give through a qualified charitable distribution from my IRA?
Yes, if you are eligible to make a qualified charitable distribution. Please ask your IRA administrator to include your name and “Founders’ Promise” with the payment. Consult your financial or tax advisor regarding your individual circumstances.
Can I donate appreciated stock?
Yes. Gifts of appreciated securities may offer tax advantages while supporting the campaign. Please contact the CHCA Development Office for stock-transfer instructions and notify us when the transfer has been initiated so we can identify your gift.
Will my employer’s matching gift count in addition to the campaign match?
Yes, if CHCA is eligible under your employer’s program. That means your gift could potentially have three times its original impact: your gift, the Founders’ Promise match, and your employer’s matching gift.
How will I know when matching milestones have been reached?
Campaign progress will be shared on the Founders’ Promise page and through CHCA communications. Each time the community reaches a $250,000 milestone, another $250,000 installment of the match will be unlocked.
