What is The Amazing Shake?

Modeled after the Ron Clark Academy’s national program, The Amazing Shake immerses students in real-world scenarios that build professional presence and people skills. With guidance from local business leaders and educators, students learn how to introduce themselves, think on their feet, and carry themselves with maturity and grace.

FAQs

The Amazing Shake is a live competition for Armleder students in grades 4 through 6, providing an opportunity to demonstrate their professional skills to local professionals. Over the course of a two-day event, students will compete in multiple rounds, with the highest-scoring participants advancing until one winner is crowned. This event is inspired by the Ron Clark Academy’s Amazing Shake. Students should be prepared to showcase a variety of skills, including but not limited to those listed, across a maximum of four rounds.

Students will not be provided with specific scenarios for The Amazing Shake in advance. However, they will receive preparation during class time and are encouraged to dedicate additional personal time to refine and demonstrate their professional skills.

Students will be scored based on their ability to demonstrate professional behavior, including communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and overall demeanor in various scenarios. Judges will assess how well students apply these skills in real-world situations.

Parents will not be permitted to serve as volunteers responsible for scoring students. However, we welcome additional assistance with the setup and organization of the two event days. If you are available, please be sure to sign up to help.

No, students are required to remain in uniform for the duration of The Amazing Shake event.

While the primary focus of The Amazing Shake is personal growth and professional skill development, the winner will receive a prize that is communicated at the final celebration.
